The software was previously using KitKat but this has Android version 7.1.2 as the core of the OS. This improvement to performance may or may not be due to the version of Android BlueStacks 4 is based on. With this new update, the company says the performance of BlueStacks 4 is 6 times faster than that of the Galaxy S9+ (which is also 8 times faster than what people got out of BlueStacks 3). The folks behind the software have just announced the big version 4 update and while there are a number of changes included in the update, its the major boost to performance that is being highlighted. The software they provide has grown to the point where many would say it's the best solution on the market for those who want to get an Android application working on a Windows or macOS computer. Thanks to some investors from the likes of Andreessen Horowitz, Redpoint, Samsung, Intel, Qualcomm, AMD, and others, BlueStacks has been able to grow over the years.
